It has been so crazy here in the studio. Who would have ever thought that so many little ones were having the first birthday and cake smash sessions?!?

I had so much fun capturing some special and ever so sweet moments of this little birthday girl!! She was all smiles and loved every bit of her cake. After she realized how messy it could be, she went into town and didn’t hold back!

Her mommy did an excellent job at picking out her adorable aqua lace romper with coral colored accents. I absolutely love the contrast with blues and shades of pink. The cake color was a bit bright than we both anticipated but both mommy and I loved the way it turned out in the cake smash photography photos. It made more of a statement. 🙂

I always tell parents during the session what to expect… Some of these little ones love the frosting, some like the cake and some are apathetic either way… She seemed to love the play that allowed for the fun and beautiful mess. And for a soon to be 1 year old, that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? Just look at the joy in her eyes and the beaming (and very proud) smile on her face!!

Documenting this milestone is so important and really helps show the beginnings of personalities.. And if her 1st birthday session has any indication to how sweet she will be in the coming years, she will steal all of our hearts.
