Cake Smash Photography for First birthday | Zander | Holly Springs NC

It is so hard to believe that we celebrated this little guy’s first birthday celebrated this little guy’s first birthday with an absolutely adorable cake smash session for his first birthday photography session. He is the 3rd and last of the Faust family kids that I have had a ton of fun working with. However, this is the first cake smash session that mom didn’t have to get overly involved and eat a bunch of cake herself. His older brother AND big sister had to have mommy help with the cake smash. Not Zander, he was good to go all by himself. But we did get mom into a couple of shots, because… tradition. Look how much he liked having mommy be in some shots.

Can we talk a little about the setup? Now, I have done a session similar to this, actually 2 sessions similar to this.. but this one is just a little different. The last 2 first birthday photography sessions with the navy backdrop and stars included gold stars. Notice that these ones are silver. Zanders room is designed by his mommy and is blue with stars. This setup just felt right. I took some time cutting out silver stars and boom here is what we got. The cake was designed, made and delivered by Baked by Billie. Billie and her team do such great job at seeing the vision and executing it. And her cakes are SO yummy.

Henry took just as much pride in smashing the cake as he did eating some of the cake. Unlike his brother, he did eat it. His big brother fed lots of cake to him mom and not so much himself.
