This sweet newborn baby girl didn’t want to take her eyes off of me, even for a second. She fought hard to avoid snoozing during the session. And when I said fight, she made mommy and daddy tired in the battle. She also had us all sweating like we were working in an oven. She would start to fade away to LaLa Land and the slightest movement or sound woke her back up. She was always aware of where her mommy was. As long as mommy was in the room and she could smell her, she did just fine.

Before we start a newborn photography session I always check the lighting in the various potential rooms. At this family’s home, the best light was absolutely, without any doubt in the guest bedroom. And to be honest, I love the antique white bed with gold accents. An all white room, with white furniture, white bedding and a lot of natural light is a photographers paradise.

Even though she spent almost all of her time staring at me, she didn’t seem very comfortable in that cute southern scalloped dress she was wearing. We weren’t sure if she was feeling too hot or if the dress was a little scratchy on her.. but I can tell you as soon as we took it off, she was happy. So happy!

She sure got happy and far more comfortable once we took off her dress. Seriously, shouting for joy!

She didn’t even want to have a headband on for her newborn photography session.

And we got the best toothless grins from her too. There are not many things in this world cuter than a newborn baby smiling, even if it is by accident.
