Ohio State Cake Smash | Raleigh First Birthday Photographer

Logan had a great Ohio State cake smash to help celebrate his first birthday. He liked some cake but really liked flirting with the camera more.

It is so hard to believe that this little boy is actually turning one already! I mean totally mind-blowing!! It feels like just a few months ago we were photographing his newborn photos after this little miracle arrived. I also remember the day his mom and dad got married, because I was there to photograph that special day too. You can see some of those photos HERE. Watching Logan’s parents work through so many obstacles to conceive was so hard for me to watch. But when they got pregnant and were finally able to hold their baby, was such a beautiful site.

Seriously, aren’t his little fat rolls on his wrist so sweet? The there are his legs that you cant see in his session because he is wearing pants, but you can tell by looking at his chubby feet and curled over baby toes. It made me want to snuggle this baby boy all day.

The cake was designed, made and delivered by Baked by Billie. She always does such a fantastic job at taking an idea and making it into a cake. In this instance, she knew that it would be an Ohio State cake smash session, but we didn’t want to use too much red coloring. We don’t recommend red because the dye is so harsh and many babies are allergic to it. Red frosting is also very hard to clean because it dyes the skin too. And let’s be honest, you can see a bunch of red around the mouth without thinking of the Joker from Batman.
