The truth is, sometimes you just have to dive in, FACE FIRST!! And that is exactly what this precious birthday girl did for her cake smash session. This is what she did when we put this beautiful pink ombre pink rosette cake in front of her to be in her cake smash. Mom, dad and I all laughed hysterically at her adorable response.

It didn’t take her long to start using all of her body to get into the cake. It started with her face, then she used her fingers, and even used her toes.

One of the things that I love most about this cute little girl are these beautiful curls upon her head and these beautiful dark brown eyes.  She is truly just a beautiful little girl and will be a beautiful woman. I know that she will not be dating until she’s probably about 30, if her daddy has anything to say about it. Hahaha!

It didn’t take her long to really make a complete mess of herself, the set up and the cute cake.

Unfortunately, we got rained out of the second portion of her session which are the pictures with her and her mommy and daddy. We’ve had to reschedule several times due to the rain but I am so excited to capture these images in just a few short weeks.

These first birthday, and cake smash sessions continue to be among my favorite sessions to photograph. It is so fun to document such a big milestone and really this fun rite of passage. I love watching their reactions to the sugar. Some love it while others need a little help. This crowned princess had it all by herself and didn’t need any help at all.

One of my favorite portions of her session was at the very end. She stood up and make it clear to us that her job there was done. It was truly adorable!!!
