After a couple of times of rescheduling this engagement session, it finally happened!! However it didn’t happen without a glitch. The first issue that we ran into during the session was an attack by tons of mosquitoes. Fortunately we didn’t spend much time in that area, and rarely notice them throughout the rest of our session.

Evidently there was quite a struggle with trying to figure out what to wear. This soon to be bride was excited when she finally picked out a cute blue dress and was eager for advice on what to get her soon to be husband to wear too. But I opened an entirely new can of worms when I asked “Are you going to have more than one outfit”. The hunt pursued for something else for them to wear… Evidently they don’t go shopping for clothing very often, and surely not with each other. But she sure to do a great job!!

It is going to be so much fun documenting this couple’s wedding day in just a few short months.. Get it? A few “short” months? There is a significant height difference between the two of these lovebirds. They wanted to make sure that the engagement session played into that a little bit. We incorporated props such as an antique ladder in the stack of books that this soon-to-be groom carried from one side of the park, to the other and back again. And shorted me for absolutely adorable photograph.

This bride was so forward thinking, that she brought her childhood friend and maid of honor with her to help carry things and make sure everything went without a hitch. She sure knows how to pick her friends wisely!! At one point we were waiting anxiously to photograph in one portion of the park. We went by a couple of different times and it was always being used by another photographer regardless of how long he patiently waited for it to be available. As soon as the maid of honor saw the family leave the area, she rushed over to hold the spot! Talk about clutch!!

I just loved working with this couple to capture these images for them to cherish and have them to reflect on, after their wedding day.. When they look at these images and say “before we were married”…..
