As a family photographer, (and a devoted mother of 2) I adore the beauty and value of family photography. Being a mother of 2 sons (ages 22 years and 7 years old) can understand the the dread of family photo season. Getting boys to dress the way I want them to, wearing shoes that don’t feel right in the toes and add the fake smiles is a REAL struggle. Having these two boys, I am able to connect to kids of all ages. We have extremely busy schedules between play dates, sporting events, sleep overs, jobs and running my business out of my home. It is best said “the days are long but the years are short”. This is why having family portraits is important. Every year I squeeze our family session in regardless of the filled calendar and every year I am so glad that I did it. I know that my sons with have the photos for them to cherish and eventually share with their families when they have them.
I hang my hat on being a mostly self taught artist with a large variety of photography inspirations. The love I have for photography started very early, at the young age of 13. My dad bought me my first 35mm camera and immediately fell in love with photography. I also had an amazing grandfather who was a portrait photographer, but not a great business man (he was too nice). In high school I was on the yearbook committee and took photos of students and sports. In 2010, I decided to pursue my passion and start taking professional photographs. Over the years, I have pushed myself to excel and provide timeless portraits for all clients.
There is such a tremendous value in building close relationships with all of my clients. It is the most fulfilling aspects of my job. This is why a majority of my work includes repeat clients. Building special special relationships and bonds allow me to capture the family without a cookie cutter shoot. While building these relationships with my clients, I am able to get to know the children. It is with that relationship, the kids get excited to see me every year… or they at least know who I am. I truly believe the better the relationship, the better the photos and the happier my clients are. It is such an honor to work with a couple to capture the excitement and anticipation they have during their maternity pictures, be there for labor and delivery as well as the first birthday.
I’ve been told that I do not just take photos of their family, but capture personality. These make the most classic photographs that are hanging for years in my clients offices and homes.
Originally, from upstate New York and a graduate of the University of South Florida, I moved to the Raleigh area in 2009. My husband Jeff and I met on MySpace, back when MySpace was cool. Our family resides in Holly Springs and we are so happy to call this wonderful community our home. Favorite food is GOOD pizza, not all pizza is created equal. Green is my absolute favorite color. Green is my birthstone, high school and college ala mater colors. The more I think about it, I am also obsessed with rose gold. I am sure that is rose gold was popular years ago, I would have more in my jewelry box. Trips to the beach, any beach, make me very happy.
Passion for my community is how I give back. Sometimes I am donating my photography services to events of some local causes or donating sessions. As an Ambassador for the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce I serve as a liaison between small business owners and the Chamber. When supporting T&T Photography you are giving back to your community. I donate my time and services to non profits such as 100 Women Who Give a Hoot, Fill Your Bucket List Foundation, Meg’s Smile Foundation,LaunchHOLLYSPRINGS. Our family supports small businesses, mostly in Holly Springs. In 2017 I was honored to receive the “Business Leader of the Year” award and in 2018 I received “Ambassador of the Year” from the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce. The awards make me so proud and happy. They are pretty too. Haha.
Love grows bellies, bellies grow babies and the babies grow up to be teens. This is why it is so important to document your family through the years. Whether you are looking for a family photographer, newborn photographer, maternity photographer, birth photographer or a cake smash photography, I would love to capture these special memories for you and your family.
